Afternoon all, Been a few months from where I left you all after my last blog so think it’s only fair that I keep you up to date about what I’ve been doing lately. As I write this I’m shortly just back from Font Romeu, that’s in the French Pyrenees for those who don’t know, where I didn’t just survive the grueling training… But George Gandy’s driving… Holy mackerel!! I could write a book about that, let alone a blog, but we’ll come back to this later on. So yeah… ...
Hi Everyone and Happy Spring… I know the majority of you are in Britain, so I hope the weather improves for you guys. We’ve had similar here and it has sucked. I also apologize for the length of this blog, but I am feeling especially sentimental at the moment, maybe I’m pregnant? If I had to sum up my last 2months in one word, it would be cold. It has been a rough few months out here in the North East, we’ve had two blizzards, with the worst one giving us 25inches of snow overnight, which was just mind-blo...
Good afternoon everyone, Trying to pick up from where I last left you all, it was in January, precisely one week before my first Indoor race of the season, I had put me body through so much pain it was unreal and I was ready to rock ‘n’ roll… and despite starting my season of with my fastest ever opener by two seconds winning the Scottish National Open by almost 6 seconds in a time of 1min 49.73, the journey there was… How do I put this… Horrific!! I was back down in Loughborough, where I have been based the pas...

Good Evening, Everyone, Firstly, I’d like to wish you all a belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, hope you all managed to stay clear of the mince pies, selection boxes and the general festive treats, saying that, I feel it’s right to pleasure yourself (don’t take that the wrong way!!) every now and then. So safe to say I did indulge in the odd delicacy. Anyway, swiftly moving on, I don’t think I’ve done a blog for a good few months, so guess the best thing to do is to jump right in and letting you know what...
So, some big changes to happen in 2013! Had a few more bad things happen before 2012 ended, some personal life problems and 2 lovely kidney stones to deal with (which by the way consisted of 2 op's in 8days! Top tip, drink more! I highly recommend not dehydrating!) But the last moments of 2012 have been seen and I'm very happy to remember the good bits but more happy that it's all over! I'm not being negative- just looking forward :-) 2013 plans include being selected for the European Winter throws in Spain in March. A few European meets, an E...
What a fantastic Olympic Games, a great year for British sport allround. Despite not being part of the greatest Games we've ever seen I defiantly feel more inspired than ever before. I made my self this promise earlier in the summer: To never miss another major Championships again! Next up World Athletics Champs in Moscow. For now is the rather unpleasant part of the athletic season. Winter training! However so far it has stayed pretty mild and I've managed to get a strong couple of months training in here in Leeds. Currently no plans ahe...
Hello all, So my 2012 season turned out to be a bit of a disaster! After the trip to America, I should have been able to relax into my throwing and hit that all important A standard. Instead I put myself under a lot of pressure and listened to too many people which cost me my place on the team. In case anyone didn't know my situation, I was the only athlete 'selectable' for the Olympics as I was the only one who had the 2 current B standards and finished top 2 at the Trials. I was told I wouldn't be picked as my 'recent form' as opposed to 'cu...
What an eventful season 2012 was for more. Highs and lows comparable to a roller coaster! I will try to fill you guys in as best as i can. After the PAC12 championships i went back into hard training, preparing myself for the NCAA regional qualifying round. To summarise, things went well there too (10.34 and 10.22 & 20.81 and 20.61). Everything was looking extremely promising for the NCAA championships. I was very confident, practice had been going smoothly and i was ranked 8th in the NCAA over 200m; the perfect recipe for me to spring a surpri...
Apologies for the delay! I'm sure you've all been wondering what I've been up to! (maybe...maybe not). So I've been back for just over a month now from San Diego. Had an amazing time out there with brilliant facilities, great atmosphere and weather to be envious of. Most importantly, I returned with the 2 important Olympic 'B' standards. Although this was slightly off what I was originally hoping for, a big chunk of pressure was now off my shoulders for me to enjoy the British season. Sadly however, every time I've competed in the UK so far, i...
